What is Podcasting Anyway?

Podcasting is a way of publishing sound files to the Internet, allowing users to receive new audio files automatically. You can think of this like an audio version of a magazine subscription. You sign up for the service and then when new features are posted on this site, the files will automatically download to your computer and/or portable MP3 player.

Download or subscribe to get listening

To download the podcasts to your computer, right-click the desired item and select 'save target as'. You can also subscribe, free of charge, using the range of options described below.

What do I need to subscribe?

You don’t need an iPod, although that is where podcasting gets its name. What you do need is a piece of software called an aggregator or podcast receiver. Some of the most commonly used podcast receivers appear below.
