Land of Giants, the largest outdoor art performance ever to be staged in Northern Ireland, is coming to the Titanic Quarter in Belfast on June 30.
Created and organised by The Beat Initiative, Belfast City Council, Belfast Community Circus and Young at Art, Land of Giants will feature larger-than-life puppets, acrobats, artists and a whole range of eye-catching performers celebrating the great historical figures of Northern Ireland's past.

Land of Giants is part of the London 2012 Festival of events taking place across the UK in the run up and during the London 2012 Olympic Games. Other events happening in Northern Ireland as part of the festival are the Happy Days Enniskillen International Beckett Festival, the Peace Camp poetry installation on the north coast, the Peace One Day Concert in Derry~Londonderry, and FLAGS, an art installation at the Giant's Causeway.
The premiere of Journey to the Land of Giants, the small-scale version of Land of Giants, took place at Festival of Fools in Saint Anne's Square in Belfast recently. A follow-up performance will take place at Carnival of Colours in Derry~Londonderry on the June 2.
The Giant is Coming, a sister production created specifically for children, will be visiting Meadowhill Shopping Centre in Portadown from May 31 until June 5 (performances on the 3 and 4 June). Combining interactive installation and live performance, this show explores the theme of 'giant' from a child's perspective.
Following Portadown the next date on the tour is Strule Arts Centre, Omagh from June 18 - 23 (performances on the June 21 - 22) before returning to Belfast during the last week in June.
There is still time to get involved with Land of Giants. They are currently recruiting our Silver performers, who will need to be available for rehearsals full time from June 23 - 30, and represent a range of ages.
