Culture Night Calls for Ideas

Organisers invite you to help shape Belfast's biggest event of the year by submitting your programme proposals, 'no matter how far-fetched'

Culture Night organisers are asking the people of Belfast to offer up their ideas for this year’s event, which takes place on Friday, September 16 across the city centre and beyond.

'No idea too crazy, no event too small' is the motto as programme planners invite the public to contribute and help shape an evening expected to be the largest, inclusive event to take place in the city this year.

Last year’s Culture Night Belfast attracted a record 65,000 people out into the city streets for an evening of exploration and adventure as venues and spaces played host to over 250 free events.

Culture Night Manager Adam Turkington said: 'No matter how far-fetched you think your idea is – it isn’t! And we’re looking forward to hearing from you. The beauty of Culture Night is that it really is by and for the people of this city. It’s a chance for us to shine a really positive light on Belfast and enjoy the very real cultural riches that we boast and for everybody to take part in a meaningful way.

'Last year we had hundreds of free events and activities happening around every corner, in every space and place we could find in the city. It’s the one night of the year in Belfast you can see people of all ages and backgrounds out together on a Friday night, and this year we aim to make it even bigger than ever. That’s why we’re calling on the people of Belfast to bring us your ideas for your Culture Night!'
