Dracula Untold Trailer Released

Universal Pictures unveils thrilling trailer for the epic action origin film shot in Northern Ireland

Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Dracula Untold, the eagerly-anticipated epic action film shot in Northern Ireland during 2013.

The film was directed by Irishman Gary Shore and is loosely based on Bram Stoker's classic novel, Dracula.

Written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Dracula Untold tells the story of how Vlad III – or Vlad the Impaler, Prince of Wallachia in the 15th century – became the grotesque vampire of legend.

Starring English actor Luke Evans in the title role – as well as Dominic Cooper, Sarah Gadon and Charles Dance, who plays the sinister Tywin Lannaster in HBO's Game of Thrones – the film is perhaps the most high profile of several feature films shot in Northern Ireland in recent years.

Dracula Untold was filmed in the Roe Valley Country Park outside Limavady in August 2013, and other locations across Northern Ireland, with a budget of $100,000,000. It is due for release on October 3, 2014.
