Game of Thrones Season 5: A Day in the Life
Three countries, hundreds of cast and crew, one epic day – watch a 26-minute HBO special as the GoT roadshow shoots in Belfast, Croatia and Spain
HBO's Game of Thrones is generally acknowledged as 'the most successful TV show in the world right now', and its success has a lot to do with its scale – any one episode can feature scenes shot on location in three or four different countries around Europe.
The show's massive budget allows producers to visually realise the various nations that make up author George RR Martin's fantasy world of Westeros without having to rely on CGI artists to paint in the differing backgrounds. That authenticity counts for a lot in the world of fantasy television drama – lesser series can only dream of attracting GoT audience figures.
The forthcoming Season 5 of the epic series will not disappoint with regards to authenticity, with crews having filmed scenes in Northern Ireland, Croatia and Spain, getting out and about from HBO's Titanic Quarter studio HQ in the heart of Belfast, where the majority of the series' interior scenes are filmed.
On Sunday, February 8, HBO broadcast this enticing 26-minute special documenting a day in the life of the GoT cast and crew as they continue to adapt Martin's source material for the silver screen. Watch the full programme above ahead of Season 5's April 12 premiere.
