The Nerve Centre

A nucleus for fusing ambitions, attitudes, abilities and aspirations...

Described as ‘one of the most dynamic and innovative multi media centres in the British Isles’ (NIFC) the Nerve Centre was established over a decade ago to promote youth culture and creativity as a positive force within the arts.

The centre is a vibrant cultural factory bringing together young musicians, film makers, animators, sound engineers and digital image-makers.

It has acted as a nucleus for fusing ambitions, attitudes, abilities and aspirations, encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to articulate themselves through creative technology.

The Nerve Centre provides musical tuition, rehearsal space, recording facilities and performance opportunities, organises the annual Foyle Film Festival and a regular cultural cinema programme and offers vocational training courses in key areas of the creative industries.

It is a learning environment which promotes the creation of ideas, images and innovation by providing real hands on experience of the creative industries. It is a hive of creativity and shared possibility where young children taking their first tentative steps in artistic expression rub shoulders with talented professionals dedicated to the pursuit of excellence.

The centre is housed in a new state of the art building containing a multitude of edit suites, rehearsal and recording studios, in-house animation and film production companies as well a performance venue, bar, coffee house and art house cinema.
