QFT Screening Room: Episode 3

Jimmy Stewart loves the November/December programme at Queen's Film Theatre 'this much'

Susan Picken, manager of Queen's Film Theatre, is just back from the London Film Festival - a world away from the relative peace and quiet of the Belfast cinema scene. There were some stand out moments, she says, and very many intriguing themes and ideas to emulate at some stage in the future. But for now there's the November/December programme at QFT to think about, and that's more than enough for now.

Certainly the folks at the LFF could pick up an idea or two from a visit to Belfast. In QFT over the next couple we can look forward interesting talks, screenings and events nights that lover of good cinema will no doubt flock to in their droves - as per usual.

Look forward to the perennial Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life, on the big screen (it costs a bomb on DVD these days!), and the goullish Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale, a film for older children in which Santa Claus is kidnapped! As the strapline goes: 'He sees you when you're sleep, he knows when you're awake. He knows if you've been bad or good, and he doesn't give a...'
