Lavery's Announce Tall Ships Music Weekend
Three day programme of live performances complete with outdoor marquee will coincide with next month's Lidl Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival
As Belfast gears up for the return of the Tall Ships from July 2-5 Lavery's Bar have announced they will host three full days of live music running alongside the Lidl Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival, as well as a Continental Market-style beer tent on the Odyssey Arena's front lawn.
From Thursday, July 2 until Saturday, July 4 some of Northern Ireland's brightest acts will perform between 12pm and 9pm, including anthemic Belfast band Runaway Go (Thursday), hotly-tipped indie quartet Go Wolf (Friday) and Derry indie-pop stars The Wonder Villains (Saturday).
Elsewhere in the line-up there are folky sounds from Malojian, Stephen Macartney and Rachel Coulter, New Ancestors and Chris Wilson, indie-pop from The Salt Flats and Loris, and guitar rock from Michael Mormecha and The Wood Burning Savages. More acts and the full timetable are to be announced.
The annual Lidl Belfast Titanic Maritime Festival welcomes the Tall Ships' third time in the city with free activities from street theatre, water sports and nautical fun to games, tours, talks and fireworks.
Organised by Sail Training International, the 2015 event is expected to attract 500,000 people, with another 500,000 watching the ships arrive and leave along the Northern Ireland and Irish coasts. The ships will be berthed in and around Belfast Harbour and the Titanic Quarter area.
