Ryan Vail Shares Stranger Things Remix

The pulsating update on the smash Netflix series' opening theme is available to download free from the Derry producer's Soundcloud

Derry-born electronic artist Ryan Vail has released a hypnotic remix of the opening title music for Netflix series Stranger Things. Titled 'Stranger Things - Ryan Vail DJ edit', the track is available to download free from the producer's Soundcloud channel.

Vail, whose debut album For Every Silence has been met with acclaim since its April release, unveiled his rework of the popular theme during his headline Woodtown Stage set at the recent Stendhal Festival of Art. The Limavady event also notably featured DJ Yoda, who created an hour-long 'mixtape' of music and soundbytes inspired by the hit show earlier this month.

Since launching on the streaming service in July, Stranger Things has become a pop culture phenomenon. Set in 1983, the supernatural mystery includes countless homages to the decade's seminal works by Steven Spielberg and Stephen King.

In addition to period specific hits, the series is soundtracked by a synth-heavy original score composed by Texas duo S U R V I V E which, after much demand, was recently released in two volumes and is also due to be performed live.

Meanwhile Vail is set for Germany this week where he'll play a string of dates across the country. He also recently revealed the inclusion of tracks from his album in Irish short The Betrayal, alongside the music of Nick Cave.
