Newcastle Looking Good for Irish Open
View images from the South Down town at the foot of the Mourne Mountains as Royal County Down welcomes the global golfing elite
The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open golf championship tees off on May 27, with Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, America's Rickie Fowler and host of other elite level golfers competing for Open glory.
In the run up to the tournament, the seaside town of Newcastle, County Down – home of the famed Royal County Down golf course on which the Open will be played out – has been spruced up to welcome the incoming hordes of golfers, media, A-list fans and tourists coming from all over the world.
