The Royal Ulster Academy's 135th annual group exhibition has opened for submissions, with artists working in all disciplines and from all backgrounds and abilities encouraged to enter work.
On display at the Ulster Museum, Belfast from October 14 - January 8, 2017, the long standing event aims to celebrate, enrich and expand contemporary approaches to the visual arts, and had over 81,000 visitors in 2015.
Works both by members of the Academy as well as those selected through submission and invitation are showcased as part of the show, which is once again sponsored by KPMG, the leading Accounting and Professional Advisory Firm.

Artists applying through the open submission process can enter a maximum of three works in any medium online, by June 15 2016. From these entries the selection panel will draw up a shortlist of works for delivery to the Academy. The Annual Exhibition will be selected from these shortlisted works.
Over £7,000 in prize money will be awarded to exhibiting artists of merit. Independent adjudicator Christopher Le Brun PRA will select recipients of the Academy’s gold, silver and bronze medal prizes. All other prizes will be awarded by the prize sponsors.
