Festival Details

Dates

Sunday, 20 August 2017 to Sunday, 27 August 2017
This year’s Charles Wood Festival of Music and Summer School is bigger and better than ever. Brimming with top-quality events, the programme promises a fresh, varied and inspiring week of concerts, services and workshops.

A special highlight will be the 'Come and Sing' event, led by the internationally renowned choral composer John Rutter. Equally special will be a workshop by leading British jazz composer Will Todd, and a seminar entitled ‘How the Voice Works’ by the Royal Opera House’s vocal coach Paul Farrington.

The world’s finest choral music will be performed by the Charles Wood Singers, conducted by the Festival’s Artistic Director David Hill, who is Chief Conductor of the BBC Singers. The Festival will also be introducing the brand-new Charles Wood Girls’ Choir, sponsored by Ulster Carpets.
