The Belfast arts festival returns for its 13th instalment with a smorgasbord of entertainment
DatesFriday, 05 January 2018 to Sunday, 28 January 2018
The bespoke Belfast festival that always comes first is back! The Out To Lunch Arts Festival returns from 5 - 28 January, bringing much badly needed cultural bite to the longest, darkest month of the year.
Now in its 13th year, the utterly unique and totally boutique Out To Lunch serves up a Brexit-proof feast of music, comedy, spoken word and theatre with a thrilling mix of familiar favourites and fresh talent. Out To Lunch offers true life-affirming sustenance for troubled times.
The Out to Lunch music line-up includes folk legend Shirley Collins and the acclaimed psychedelic twosome Moon Duo, Kraftwerk's Wolfgang Flür, the heady afro-electronic swirl of Ibibio Sound Machine, The Oh Hellos, Terri Hooley and many, many more.
The spoken word and literature programme boasts one of the greatest Irish men of letters Bernard MacLaverty, the hi-priestess of rhyme Hollie McNish, Tony Walsh, the storytelling phenomenon that is tenx9 pop-cultural heavyweight Jonathan Meades and post-punk heroine Cosey Fanni Tutti (formerly of Throbbing Gristle, reading from her hugely acclaimed memoir 'Art, Sex, Music').
A bumper comedy line-up features festival fave Andrew Maxwell, the deliciously-scathing Fern Brady, I, Daniel Blake star and acclaimed stand-up Dave Johns, Iain Lee doing his much-loved Rabbit Hole Podcast live, plus Robin Ince, Joanne McNally, Adam Kay and the unforgettable Alison Spittle.
