This small nature reserve perched above Glenarm village on a limestone escarpment, is covered by hazel woodland with pockets of interesting grassland. Best known for its flora, the site is beautiful in spring when the woodland floor is a sea of colour. Fine views of the stunning Antrim coast and the Mull of Kintyre can be enjoyed from the picnic area. Red squirrels can be found in the woodland, along with rabbits, wood mice, shrews and stoats. Look out for Northern Ireland Priority Species; wood white butterfly, mistle thrush, song thrush and bullfinch. Notable plants associated with this nature reserve include wood vetch, stone bramble and birds-nest orchid.
