CNI Wins Web Award

CultureNorthernIreland scoop award for excellence at NICVA's SCOPE Awards

CultureNorthernIreland has been recognised as one of Northern Ireland's top websites, winning runner-up prize in the ICONI Award for Excellence at the 9th Annual SCOPE Awards.

Comedienne Nuala McKeever presented the award to CultureNorthernIreland's Kirsten Kearney and David Lewis at the awards ceremony on Thursday, June 7.

CultureNorthernIreland Director Lewis said:

'The award is recognition of the major strides CultureNorthernIreland has made during the last year. We are now the leading arts and cultural website in Northern Ireland with more than 45,000 visitors per month.

'The Internet is a rapidly changing environment and websites have to adapt quickly if they are to maintain interest. So we won't be resting on our laurels. In September we will be launching a new version of CultureNorthernIreland with even more services and exciting features for our users.'

The Awards aim to improve the quality of publications, websites, promotional concepts and campaigning in NI and to celebrate different publications' successes. Disability Action were the winners of the top prize in the ICONI Award for Excellence in Websites, whilst Help the Aged and New Lodge Forum were the winners of the overall categories.

Awards were presented in nine different categories including promotional concept, formats with people with special needs and the Weber Shandwick award for Excellence in Campaining. This year the awards were sponsored by GPS Colour Graphics, Iconi Software and Weber Shandwick.
