Submissions Open for Culture Night Belfast 2017
Organisers of the city's biggest cultural celebration call for brilliant and hare-brained event ideas to help attract record visitor numbers once more
The submissions process has opened for this year’s Belfast Culture Night, which will take place on Friday September 22.
Now in its ninth year, Culture Night is Belfast's largest, most exciting and inclusive cultural celebration, bringing together over 250 free events across more than 100 locations in the city centre over a single day.
Last year’s event attracted a record-breaking 80,000 visitors from Belfast and beyond and the 2017 edition is expected to break the 100,000 mark.
In the words of the organisers, 'Culture Night is open to everyone, not just to visit but to take part. We need you! So if you have a hare-brained/ half-baked/ brilliant/ silly/ big/ small/ in-between/ oddly wobbly/ curiously purple/ curved at the edges/ outside the box/ inside the Black Box/ everywhere at once/ nowhere in particular idea for #CNB17 we want your submission!'
Artists, organisations or venues wishing to submit an event will find all the information they need in the Culture Night Toolkit, which can be downloaded along with a submission form at www.culturenightbelfast.com. The closing date for submissions is Thursday June 22.
