OUTtakes at OUTBURST festival

OUTBURST Queer Arts Festival invites you to tell your story on film

There are so many touching, bizarre, sad, hilarious, powerful or poignant stories that come from the unique experiences and histories of lesbian, gay, bi or trans people in Northern Ireland.
And here's a great opportunity to share one of those moments from your own life on the big screen!

OUTBURST Queer Arts Festival, in collaboration Creative Media Partnerships, is producing a series of 1-2 minute films to celebrate, document and share queer experience in Northern Ireland through personal storytelling.

Supported by Belfast City Council, OUTtakes will be premiered on the big screen this November as part of the OUTBURST festival.

The organisers are now looking for participants for OUTtakes and they would love to hear from you if you have a story you'd like to share on film.

Stories can be from any point in your life, about anything related to being an LGBT person and delivered straight to camera by you or, why not, even with sock puppets (imagination is good, we're open to creative suggestions!) If you would like to contribute with friends, family or a partner, the organisers are happy to consider group submissions but  the number of participants in any single film can not exceed three people. Stories must also be factual and your own.

Your ideas will be work-shopped with you, so you'll have all the support and confidence you need to tell your short story as best you can. Your time commitment need to be no more than 3 or 4 hours, as filming will happen directly after our 2 hour workshops. Participants from outside Belfast are welcome, though due to time constraints all filming will take place in the city.

Closing date for registering interest is Friday 26th September 2008. If you'd like to take part, please fill in this very simple form and return it as soon as possible to info@outburstarts.com.
If you have a sight impairment or find written applications difficult, please call Creative Media Partnerships directly on 02890 319950.
