Celtronic 2012 Line-up Announced
Headline acts announced for Derry~Londonderry's acclaimed electronic music festival
Some of the biggest names in electronic music will converge on Derry~Londonderry at the end of June for Celtronic 2012. Described as ‘Ireland’s answer to Sonar’ by DJ Magazine, Celtronic is now firmly established as Ireland’s premier electronic music festival.
This year is the 12th year of the festival, which will take place in venues across Derry~Londonderry from Wednesday June 27 to Sunday July 1.
Among the international headline acts taking part are Siberian-born Nina Kraviz, whose talent for both making and playing the most sublime underground house music has seen her become one of the most in-demand artists of 2012.
Norwegian disco king Todd Terje, who has produced some of the biggest tracks of the last couple of years, will make the trip from Oslo to Derry for the event, while Dutch DJ Steffi, resident at the world’s best club, Berghain/Panorama Bar in Berlin and producer on labels such as Ostgut Ton and Clone, will bring the sound of Berlin to the north west.
Arguably the most talented DJ in the bass music scene, Oneman will bring his amazing dexterity and big box of dancefloor tunes to play at the opening night of this year’s festival alongside the increasingly prolific Space Dimension Controller from R&S Records.
Live performances will come from the award-winning comedy hip-hop duo, The Rubber Bandits, winner of this year’s Choice Music Prize for Best Irish Album, Jape and prodigious Irish producer Mmoths, who at the age of 18 has already shared a stage with Aphex Twin and counts Flying Lotus among his growing legion of fans.
A spokesperson for Celtronic said, ‘This is just the tip of the iceberg for what we expect to be one of Celtronic’s most ambitious editions yet.’
As always, Celtronic 2012 will feature a selection of the finest Irish DJs and live acts. An access all events ticket will cost £35 while nightly admission ranges from £6-13.
