Applications now open for all courses and tickets available for concerts at the North West Regional College

The 11th City of Derry Guitar Festival is taking place from August 22 – 25, and applications are now officially open for all courses. The event will be hosted in the state of the art music department at the North West Regional College.

The City of Derry Guitar Festival offers guitar lovers three days of intense guitar therapy in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, and is now in its 11th year.

Once again the festival will offer courses in a range of styles, from traditional classical guitar course to flamenco guitar. Application forms for all courses are now available at the City of Derry Guitar Festival website.

Thin Lizzy Riffs library electric guitar course, a songwriting course with Eoin O’Callaghan (aka Best Boy Grip) and an absolute beginners’ course are also available. The first day of the absolute beginners course is free and promises to be a great experience for those wanting to give the guitar a go.

Audiences will also be treated to a series of unique guitar concerts featuring internationally acclaimed artists such as Tatyana Ryzhkova, Pat Coldrick, John Walsh, Benyounes Quartet, Tony McManus, Sean Woods and Sarah Murphy.

All concerts will take place in the Foyle Theatre at the North West Regional College. Concert tickets cost £12, £10 concession and £6 for students.

The City of Derry Guitar Festival is funded by Arts Council NI, the North West Regional College, City of Culture 2013 and the D'Addario Foundation. Visit the festival website for more information.
