Scottish twins The Proclaimers to play the Waterfront Hall

NI audiences will be walking slightly less than 500 miles, admittedly, but in some cases still a considerable distance as Scottish duo The Proclaimers take to the Belfast Waterfront stage on Thursday November 29. Accompanied by their full live band, the twins with the unmistakable voices will perform their legendary hits including 'Letter From America', 'I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)', 'King Of The Road' and songs from their new album, Life With You.

Craig and Charlie Reid are still among the most dynamic and energetic live acts in the world, stirring passions on both sides of the Atlantic - two impassioned brothers singing their hearts out in their own accents about serious political issues.

It’s been 20 years since The Proclaimers made their legendary TV début on The Tube, performing 'Letter From America'. The Reid brothers were unlike anything seen before and Channel 4’s switchboards jammed with curious callers. It was the birth of a phenomenon. 'Letter From America' went on to make Number 3 in the UK singles chart.

The Proclaimers followed the massive success of their This Is The Story début album with 1988’s Sunshine On Leith, which became a massive hit throughout Europe, America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The album’s 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' was a worldwide success.

The Proclaimers have performed in front of huge crowds across the globe. However, the brothers played in front of a truly massive live captive audience in 2002 when they performed 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)' at Glasgow's Hampden Park five minutes before the start of the UEFA Champions League Final. As well as the 55,000 Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen fans in the stadium, an estimated worldwide TV audience of over 1 billion viewers witnessed their rousing rendition of the classic hit!

Tickets for The Proclaimers are available from the Waterfront Box Office on 028 9033 4455 or via their website.
