MTV EMA - Belfast 2011

MTV to present this year's show from multiple locations throughout Belfast

MTV EMA 2011 will be held in Belfast on Sunday November 6.

The awards, at the Odyssey Arena, will be hosted by American singer and actress Selena Gomez. Performers include Queen, Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Justin Bieber, David Guetta, Snow Patrol, Jason Derulo, Jessie J, Bruno Mars and LMFAO.

Presenters confirmed include Snooki and J-Woww (Jersey Shore), Ashley Rickards (MTV's Awkward), model Bar Refaeli, actress Hayden Panettiere and singers Katy Perry and Amy Lee (Evanescence).

For the first time, the star-studded show will be broadcast from another two venues in the city – Belfast City Hall and the Ulster Hall.

The awards, now in their 18th year, will be broadcast live to around 1.2billion people at 9pm GMT on MTV channels around the world.

All tickets were allocated at a MTV casting event on Sunday October 30.

You must have a ticket to attend any of the MTV EMA shows – please do not turn up if you do not have a ticket, as you will not be permitted entry.

There will also be plenty of other gigs in Belfast in the run up to the MTV EMA as part of Belfast Music Week which runs from Sunday October 30 - Sunday November 6.

Voting and nominations

Lady Gaga leads the way with six nominations, followed by Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, with four nominations.

Adele, the top-selling artist of the year so far, has been nominated for three awards, with Justin Bieber and Thirty Seconds To Mars also up for three. Adele has also been voted Best UK and Ireland Act and will compete against 22 fellow winners from across Europe for the chance to represent the continent in the Worldwide Act category.
