Culture Night Belfast Needs You!

Submissions round opens for individual artists, organisations, entrepreneurs and others to take part on September 19

Organisers of the sixth Culture Night Belfast are seeking entries for this year’s event. Culture Night Belfast 2014 is set to take place on September 19 across the city centre and beyond, and is expected to attract record numbers of visitors and locals.

Last year over 250 organisations and individuals got involved and performed, presented, curated, cultivated, illuminated, showed, screened and opened up to over 42,000 members of the public, in the Cathedral Quarter and elsewhere in an evening of exploration and adventure for all.

Culture Night Belfast is once again asking organisations and individuals with a great idea for a performance piece, film screening, reading, dance production and/or everything in between to submit it for entry to be considered as part of this year’s celebrations.

'Culture Night is all about inclusion, co-operation and collaboration,' said Culture Night manager Adam Turkington.

'Every year we get submissions from organisations and people from many different backgrounds and areas of expertise. Our basic question is this: what can you do to positively transform a part of the city, and add something to the Culture Night celebrations?

'That's the magic of Culture Night Belfast – it can literally be whatever you want it to be. And we can help you realise a space and be part of this madcap and magical evening of exploration and adventure.

'So we're calling on Belfast businesses, Belfast entrepreneurs, Belfast arts organisations, Belfast artists of all stripes to help shape Culture Night Belfast 2014 into a citywide celebration for all.'

The deadline for submissions to Culture Night Belfast 2014 close on July 1. Visit the Culture Night Belfast website to download a submission toolkit and for further information.
