Derry~Londonderry welcomes photographer Seamus Ryan on Friday, August 9 to capture local faces
You could become one of the faces of Turner Prize in Derry~Londonderry when celebrity photographer Seamus Ryan visits the city on Friday, August 9 to capture images of residents.
As part of a special campaign marking the city’s hosting of the Turner Prize, images of local people will be posted on buildings and banners across the city and beyond.
Culture Company 2013 wants as many people as possible to come to Foyleside Shopping Centre this Friday, August 9, between 10am and 4am to have their portrait taken.
Old or young, short or tall, this is a chance to have your photo taken by a famous photographer and become one of the faces of Europe’s most prestigious prize for contemporary art.
Seamus Ryan, whose recent clients include The BAFTAs, Louis Vuitton and Chanel alongside many celebrities including Rupert Grint, Jonathan Ross and Billy Connolly, will capture people’s reactions to the work of the artists on the Turner Prize 2013 shortlist.
Each shoot will take between four and five minutes, and images will be available on the Turner Prize website from next month.
The Turner Prize 2013 exhibition will be one of the highlights of Derry~Londonderry’s UK City of Culture 2013 programme, and opens in the city on October 22. It is the first time this prestigious award has left England.
The shortlisted artists, whose work will be on show at Ebrington from October to January, are Laure Prouvost, Tino Sehgal, David Shrigley and Lynette Yiadom-Boakye.
