Belfast Improv Comedy Festival

Northern Ireland’s first ever Improv Comedy Festival will take place this August

Festival Details

Dates

Wednesday, 01 August 2018 to Sunday, 05 August 2018

Running from August 1st – 5th, the Belfast Improv Comedy Festival will feature internationally recognised performers and troupes from all over the globe, representing cities including Chicago, Shanghai, London, Dublin, Galway, and Detroit.

There’ll be 20+ performances over the five days; shows will take place each evening at Accidental Theatre, Shaftesbury Square.

Improv Comedy is best known in the UK and Ireland through the hit 90’s TV series Whose Line Is It Anyway?, in which comedians performed short improvised games based on suggestions from audiences. We’ll have shows like that at our festival, but we’ll also have other forms, including: an improvised Shakespearean comedy; a murder mystery; a musical comedy; two-person improvised plays; and improvised animated storytelling (using laser technology).
