Festival Details

Thursday, 01 June 2017 to Friday, 30 June 2017

Belfast Photo Festival have opened up the festival for submissions from budding talents and keen photographers, as they battle to win a number of spots in the main gallery. Their work will be featured alongside the professionals in the photography scene, as well as the chance to feature in the festival's magazine 'Abridged', as well as the chance to win a number of cash prizes.

There are a number of conditions for the festival, such as the entry must be photogenic or lens based but it can feature other art forms within, such as paintings, literature, music and more. The theme has been left open so it's up to the photographer themselves to choose. The entry will be judged by a jury of very experienced professionals with the likes of James Estrin (Lens Co-Editor of New York Times), Lucy Gallun (Assistant Curator of Museum of Modern Art), Michael Mack (Publisher of MACK Books) and Ciara Hickey (Curator of Belfast Exposed Photography Gallery) amongst others.

Entries can come in a number of ways. Photographers can submit a sole photobook or photos, as well as both, or can submit a collection. For more information on the full Jury panel, submission options and awards, you can find it out here. Entries must be submitted by 6th March 2017.
