VariousCreated as a joyous celebration of choral music-making, the City of Derry International Choral Festival provides opportunities for competitive and non-competitive participation for singers across a wide range of styles, ensembles and ages. School, local, national and international choirs are invited to take part in a five-day festival of competitions, concerts, pop-up performances and educational workshops.
Over 100 choirs (featuring 4,000 plus singers) from Belarus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, Ireland and the UK took part in the first two editions of the City of Derry International Choral Festival in October 2013 and October 2014.
The main venue for concerts, competitions and workshops is St. Columb’s Hall, and the festival’s Choral Trails, Sacred Trail and Community Concerts have brought visiting choirs to more than 25 city locations for pop-up performances, concerts and Sunday church services.
