City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival will offer five days of the very best in local and global music

The festival, now in its 16th year, will offer music lovers a fantastic programme of live music between April 27 and May 1 and is one of the region’s most anticipated and talked about social events of the year.

The festival will welcome back a number of festival favourites and welcome for the first time, a variety of hotly tipped Jazz acts from across the globe. Organised by Derry City and Strabane District Council, the Jazz Festival features live music acts at over 70 venues and featuring over 200 musical acts during the Bank Holiday weekend.

The extremely talented Irish musician, producer and singer/songwriter Imelda May takes the headline spot this year at the City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival as she launches her new music, which many will have seen when she performed her lead track Black Tears at the Jools Holland ‘Hootenanny’ special over New Year.

May will feature as the headline act at the five day festival on Sunday 30th April at The Millennium Forum. The festival is an annual celebration of jazz and big bands featuring artists from all over the world and welcoming more than 40,000 revellers over the bank holiday weekend.
