Music fans are set for a feast of entertainment for all the family on June 11th when the Strabane Summer Jamm Festival concludes by bringing together some of the biggest and most exciting acts on the country music circuit.
DatesFriday, 09 June 2017 to Sunday, 11 June 2017
David James, Cliona Hagan and Johnny Brady will headline the Summer Jamm Country Stage for a four hour long open air concert at The Canal Basin in Strabane that will mark the end of the 2017 Strabane Summer Jam Festival, sponsored by SGN Natural Gas.
The festival will run from Friday June 9th until Sunday June 11th with a mix of music, fun fair, arts, children’s activities and markets taking place in various locations in the town.
Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Alderman Hilary McClintock, said Sunday’s event represented the perfect way to round off a weekend to remember in Strabane.
“The Strabane Summer Jamm festival is now firmly established as one of the most popular entertainment events on Council’s calendar and, with the addition of an extra day, 2017 is set to be the biggest and best yet,” she said.
“The Country Stage at the Canal Basin on Sunday promises to be a fun and entertaining day out for all the family and is very reasonably priced at just £3 per ticket or £12 for a family of five.
“The lineup includes some of the most exciting names on the country music circuit and is a great opportunity to hear them all on one stage.”
Darren Young, Head of Business Development at festival sponsors SGN Natural Gas added, “The Company is delighted to be confirmed as sponsor of the Strabane Summer Jamm as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting the local community and the Gas to the West project.
“As we prepare to connect our first domestic customers in Strabane to the new gas network this summer, we are thrilled to be supporting this event. The Strabane Summer Jamm has grown from strength to strength in recent years to become the premier outdoor festival for the town and district. We are really looking forward to being part of this hugely popular event.’’
Tyrone singer Cliona Hagan is someone who needs no introduction locally and has taken the country music scene by storm since she launched her band just 12 months ago, playing to sold out venues throughout Ireland and releasing a string of hit singles.
David James is another rising star of the Irish Country music scene. Still only 19 years of age, he scored a number one in the Irish Country Music chart last year with his hit single ‘My Donegal Doll’.
County Antrim man Johnny Brady has been involved in the music industry for the last two decades with four acclaimed albums to his name. His shows are characterised by powerful vocals and energetic performance meaning his Summer Jamm performance is one not be missed.
The entertainment on the Country Stage at the Canal Basin will be from 3pm until 7pm on Sunday June 11th. The concert is suitable for all ages and tickets can be purchased now at www.derrystrabane.com/SummerJa
